All Java enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the Java 11 release. It is said to include more than just features and one of the major highlights that will arrive with Java 11, is the platform long-term support.

To provide a better understanding of the upcoming release, four passionate Java and technology professionals will hold an insightful open panel discussion.

PRESENTERS:

Boyan Bonev, VMware:

Boyan is a Java developer with 12 years of experience. He worked in several different small and big companies like VMware, SAP, Playtech in Bulgaria and abroad. For the last 7-8 years, he works for VMware. Currently, he is a technical leader in the Usage Meter project. Boyan has personal interests in software architectures, development processes, and distributed systems. In his day to day work h,e uses micro-services with Java, Docker containers, Kubernetes and etc. In his free time, Boyan likes to travel, play squash and drive his motorbike.

Kunka Kuncheva, VMware:

Kunka has started her professional career 8 years ago as a software developer intern. Two years ago, she joined VMware Bulgaria. By applying her passion for science, new technology, development processes, and her diligent research, she quickly became one of the technical leaders in the vCloud Usage Meter`s team. She is working on developing both On-Prem product as well as micro-services with Java. In her spare time, Kunka loves traveling, practicing sports and attending different cooking classes.

Ivan St. Ivanov, Bulgarian Java User Group:

Ivan St. Ivanov is Java Champion with more than 15 years experience with Java development. He is co-founder and senior programmer at VIDA Software, doing various consulting gigs and teaching Java and Microservices related courses. Ivan is an active JUG member, leading the Bulgarian JUG and driving the Adopt-a-JSR program there. He is also the co-host of Virtual JUG’s Book reading club. In his free time, he likes contributing to open source software. As such he is a proud contributor to the MicroProfile. Ivan is doing his Ph.D. in the area of cloud multi-tenancy in the University of National and World Economy. He is teaching Java and Java EE in the Sofia University. Since 2015 he is one of the lead organizers of the jPrime conference in Sofia.

Dmitry Alexandrov, Bulgarian Java User Group:

Dmitry is a principal expert developer at T-Systems. He has more than a decade experience mainly in Java Enterprise in banking/telecom, but interested in dynamic languages on JVM and features like massive computations on GPUs. He is a Java Champion, a true believer in open source and community-driven initiatives. He is a co-lead of the Bulgarian Java User Group and co-organizer of jPrime Conf. Dmitry is a blogger and also a frequent speaker at local events as well as conferences like JavaOne, Devoxx/Voxxed and Joker.
